Tasty batata vada recipe……..Easy and quick homemade recipe. This recipe will fullfil your craving of street style batata vada. You can also accompany them with pav for more twisted flavor. This single recipe is solution for 2 recipe like you can also make vada pav. This recipe is like a gem.
INGREDIENTS
- Potato – 600 gram
- Ginger – 1 inch piece
- Garlic – 10-12 piece
- Green chili – 4-5
- Besan – 1-1/2 cup
- Red chili powder – 1 teaspoon
- salt
- Baking soda – A pinch
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Oil
- Chopped green coriander – 2 tbsp

DIRECTIONS FOR BATATA VADA
- Boil potatoes, let them cool down, peel the boiled potatoes and mash them in a bowl
- Grind and make a smooth paste of green chilies, ginger, garlic.
- Mix water in beasan along with red chilli powder, salt and baking soda to make a thick batter.
- Heat a little oil in a pan and add the paste of green chili, ginger and garlic ; we made earlier.
- Now add mashed potatos in that pan along with some turmeric powder; add chopped green coriander and salt as required.
- Let the mixture cool down; once it cool make lemon sized balls of the mixture.
- Heat enough oil in kadhai. take the potato balls drip then into besan batter then put them in hot oil for frying until they become crispy and light golden.
- Now serve them hot with your favorite chatney.
Enjoy this with spicy chutney like green mint chutney, red chili chutney, fried green chili. Sprinkle some chat masala on vadas or red chili powder mixed with chat masala this combination on spices will give a new flavor to this recipe as a final touch.
