Famous Gujrati style dhokla recipe.. Easy and quick to make. Khamand dhokla is very famous recipe in Gujrat side but it is loved by people living in northern states.

INGREDIENTS

  • Besan – 2 cup
  • Curd – 1 cup
  • Chopped green chili – 1 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Baking soda – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Lemon – 1
  • Chopped green coriander – 2 tbsp
  • Grated coconut – 1/4 cup

DIRECTIONS FOR DHOKLA:

  • Take besan in a bowl and add whipped curd along with lukewarm water in that bowl. Mix them well so that there will be no lumps. This mixture should be a little thick. Now add salt in this mixture and keep this bowl aside for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Take green chilies and ginger; grind them together.
  • Once the batter rise a little add grinded chilies and ginger in it. Add some turmeric powder and mix the batter properly.
  • Prepare a water steamer.
  • Put oil all around the dhokla tin . Take baking soda in a small bowl ; add oil and lemon in it and mix them. Now put this mixture in the besan batter.
  • Put the batter in that oiled tin and cook it in the steamer for 10-12 minutes.
  • When it is a little cold; cut it into square pieces and put it in a plate or bowl.
  • Heat some oil in a small pan and add mustard seeds. Pour some water in that pan and add 1 cup sugar. mix until the sugar is dissolved. Pour this syrup on the dhokla.
  • Garnish dhokla with some sliced green chilies and grated coconut.
  • Your tasty dhokla is ready now you can serve it.
