Famous Gujrati style dhokla recipe.. Easy and quick to make. Khamand dhokla is very famous recipe in Gujrat side but it is loved by people living in northern states.
INGREDIENTS
- Besan – 2 cup
- Curd – 1 cup
- Chopped green chili – 1 tbsp
- Salt
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Baking soda – 1 tsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Lemon – 1
- Chopped green coriander – 2 tbsp
- Grated coconut – 1/4 cup

DIRECTIONS FOR DHOKLA:
- Take besan in a bowl and add whipped curd along with lukewarm water in that bowl. Mix them well so that there will be no lumps. This mixture should be a little thick. Now add salt in this mixture and keep this bowl aside for 3 to 4 hours.
- Take green chilies and ginger; grind them together.
- Once the batter rise a little add grinded chilies and ginger in it. Add some turmeric powder and mix the batter properly.
- Prepare a water steamer.
- Put oil all around the dhokla tin . Take baking soda in a small bowl ; add oil and lemon in it and mix them. Now put this mixture in the besan batter.
- Put the batter in that oiled tin and cook it in the steamer for 10-12 minutes.
- When it is a little cold; cut it into square pieces and put it in a plate or bowl.
- Heat some oil in a small pan and add mustard seeds. Pour some water in that pan and add 1 cup sugar. mix until the sugar is dissolved. Pour this syrup on the dhokla.
- Garnish dhokla with some sliced green chilies and grated coconut.
- Your tasty dhokla is ready now you can serve it.
